Bahrain’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MoHUP) has invited bids for the Busaiteen Link Package 3 which involves development of new road corridors in Muharraq.

The scope of this Saudi-funded project includes construction of a 8.3-km four-lane dual carriageway, 2.4 km of associated dual carriageway, three storm surface water lifting stations as well as providing adjustment to airport runway approach lights in addition to all associated works, according to Bahrain Tender Board website.

Bahrain’s government aims to boost the existing road network by developing new road corridors to support the rapidly expanding economy of the kingdom. The proposed corridors include the Busaiteen Link as part of the Muharraq Ring Road Phase II project.

The deadline for submitting the tenders was set at March 12, it added.

According to Bahrain Tender Board, the technical proposal will be opened first and only those bidders who pass this will be financially evaluated. The technical proposal must not include any financial information, it added.

The bid is open to only Saudi contractors registered as per Deputy Ministry for Contractor Classification in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under Class A for Roads Works or those Saudi contractors registered as per Deputy Ministry for Contractor Classification in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under Class A for Roads Works in JV with Bahraini Contractors registered under Category AA for Road Works as per Ministry of Works, in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Also, it will be open to Saudi contractors registered as per Deputy Ministry for Contractor Classification in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under Class A for Road Works in JV with a foreign contractor.

Bahrain’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning said the entire work will be completed in 64 weeks.
