CAPITALISING on Saudi’s highly promising projects market, the Saudi Building and Interiors Exhibition (SBIE) is fully geared to provide an insight into the latest as well as green and smart solutions to meet the demands of the kingdom’s ever booming building design and interior market.

The annual exhibition, now in its 23rd year, will be held next month (May 11 to 14) at the Jeddah Centre for Forum and Events, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It will be strongly supported by international companies, leading Saudi manufacturers, agents and distributors, and a wide spectrum of professional visitors from across the kingdom and neighbouring Gulf states.

More than 25,000 visitors are expected to attend the four-day exhibition which will have well over 500 exhibitors from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, China, Egypt, India, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey and the UAE, showcasing their ware, according to the organiser Al Harithy Company for Exhibitions.

A high-profile conference held in parallel will aim to address issues and latest developments in the field such as recent real estate legislation and increased land prices, in addition to construction challenges in developing affordable housing. Organised by IQPC, the conference will be addressed by experts of the industry, and will bring together leading personalities from within Saudi Arabia’s housing, healthcare, education and mega city (development) sectors.

Commenting on the show, Zahoor Siddique, vice-president of Al Harithy Company for Exhibitions, said: “SBIE serves as an important business-to-business networking platform that complements the upbeat market conditions in Saudi Arabia.

“It provides a dedicated avenue for trade visitors to explore the latest and most advanced construction and building solutions, while allowing exhibitors to take advantage of the immense growth potential of the largest construction and stone market in the region.”

He said that the building and interiors sectors have reached a high level of sophistication rendering them highly synergistic and virtually inseparable.

“So, those offering sophisticated products and advanced services can have an unmatched captive market,” he added.

Siddique said that SBIE strives to offer complete information about the recent developments made in the construction and interior decoration industries.

Another highlight at the event will be the return of the Construction Machinery Showcase that was hugely successful last year. This strategic addition will provide visitors with a one-stop shop for all their construction requirements.

Some of the top Saudi companies that will participate in SBIE include Rezayat Protective Coating Company, National Polyethylene Company, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), LCC Siporex, Al Sawary Trading Company, Saudi Perlite, Al Bandar for Ceramics, Riyadh Cranes, Al Bayda Steel Works Factory, National Gas and Industry Company (Gasco), Al Koblan Thermopipe Factory Company, Alwah Al Khaleej Factory, Al Maymanah Trading and Al Burkan National Company.

Established as Saudi Arabia’s key event, SBIE continues to provide a comprehensive showcase for suppliers and service providers, whether new to the market or wishing to increase brand awareness.

With its prime location in Jeddah, the country’s commercial and leisure capital, SBIE provides a platform from which to access the region’s largest single market and to find out about the latest building and interiors industry developments, assess the competition and network with specialist contractors, equipment and material suppliers, as well as solution providers.

Additionally, exhibitors can hope to tap a market that is being fed by Saudi Arabia’s $650-billion Ninth Development Plan, which acts as a catalyst for its ongoing ambitious long-term programme for building and construction, and expanding the infrastructure across the country.
