Fluor Corporation, a global engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and maintenance company, has announced an updated organizational and reporting structure that better aligns its business with identified growth markets and company strategy.
As per the plan, Fluor will be divesting its maintenance services unit in the first quarter and continue operations in only three business segments: energy solutions, urban solutions and mission solutions.
Additionally, the EPC major has also set up two newly-consolidated functional organizations: Project Execution and Corporate Development and Sustainability.
Energy Solutions will be led by Jim Breuer, who will focus on energy transition, chemicals and traditional oil and gas opportunities.
Breuer had previously, served as president of the downstream business line within Fluor’s Energy & Chemicals business group.
He was also Fluor's vice president and general manager for mining and metals in the South America region. He has more than 27 years of experience in the EPC industry in a variety of markets including downstream, upstream, petrochemicals, mining and power.
Urban Solutions, led by Terry Towle, will pursue opportunities in mining, metals, advanced technologies, manufacturing, life sciences, infrastructure, and will include Fluor’s professional staffing (TRS) unit.
Towle was previously the group president of Infrastructure & Power, responsible for numerous markets including aviation, bridges, commercial and institutional, heavy civil services, ports and marine terminals, rail and transit, renewable energy, telecommunications, thermal power, and toll roads and highways.
He brings with him, more than 35 years of industry experience in the areas of construction management, project engineering, and direct field construction.
Mission Solutions, led by Tom D’Agostino, will be primarily focused on delivering solutions to federal agencies across the US government and to select international opportunities.
D'Agostino has more than 35 years of executive, leadership, management, and operational experience in a wide variety of government-related fields.
Prior to joining Fluor, D'Agostino had served for more than seven years in a number of politically appointed leadership positions for Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama as the undersecretary for nuclear security at the Department of Energy, and administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), as well as the deputy administrator for defense programmes.
Additionally, Fluor has established two newly-consolidated functional organizations: Project Execution, led by Mark Fields, and Corporate Development and Sustainability, led by Al Collins.
In his new role, Fields will be responsible for major projects, engineering and technology, project controls, quality, supply chain, construction, risk, health, safety and environment (HSE), and security.
Prior to this, he was group president of Energy & Chemicals, with global oversight for business development and operations in the upstream and downstream oil and gas markets as well as the chemical and petrochemical industries.
Collins has more than 26 years of experience in various business development, corporate planning, engineering, procurement, and construction management positions.
Prior to this, he had held various leadership positions for Fluor’s Energy & Chemicals business, including SVP of global operations, SVP of global business development as well as VP of operations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
