Banque Audi Plaza ... one of several projects executed with ConrenÕs local partner CSC.

Beirut plaza Coatings from Conren International of the UK were recently used on a prestigious project in Beirut, Lebanon.

The products - a flooring coating and an anti-slip coating - were used on the new Banque Audi Plaza, which is located in Beirut's Central District.

"Conren, in conjunction with its local partner Construction Services Company (CSC) in Beirut, successfully supplied and applied its Aquasol HD water-based epoxy coating to the main floor areas of the basement car-park as well as its Congrip epoxy-based anti-slip system to the main internal ramp areas," says export sales director Bernard Dennis.

The contract was initiated following a visit to the project in April 2000 by Dennis, when he participated in a UK government trade mission to Beirut, which was led by Nick Raynsford, MP, who at that time was the Minister for Construction. The minister and the delegates on the trade mission were invited to visit the site and to see the prestigious building under construction.

The consultant for the project was Rafik El-Khoury & Partners and the main contractor was Societe Mouawad-Edde.

"The total area coated with Conren's products is about 8,000 sq m and the application work was undertaken by CSC, which has been associated with Conren International for more than a decade," says Dennis.

"During that time, many other significant projects have been successfully undertaken by CSC using Conren products and these include waterproofing of new and existing buildings with Rooftex, the liquid-applied waterproofing membrane and the internal coating of large concrete water tanks with Aquasol, the water-based epoxy coating," he adds.
