CARILLION Alawi has been appointed as the infrastructure contractor for Saraya Bandar Jissah, Oman’s newest integrated tourism complex (ITC) taking shape in the east of the capital Muscat.

Carillion Alawi will execute the RO10 million ($25.97 million) package that comprises installation of all utilities required at the development and creating the fundamental network provisions for the leisure and residential components at Saraya Bandar Jissah.

These include the complete networks for electrical power, water supply, irrigation, storm water drainage, sewage and communications, in addition to road finishing work and street-lighting.

Carillion Alawi, which won the bid amidst competition with 12 companies, will also undertake infrastructure works that include the construction of the main entrance to the development.

The infrastructure services were designed by Halcrow Middle East, the lead infrastructure consultant for the development, to meet the highest local and international standards.

Atkins will oversee the construction phase of the infrastructure package.

The infrastructure construction works are part of the second major construction phase of Saraya Bandar Jissah, and were scheduled to commence onsite last month.

Saraya Bandar Jissah is an integrated tourism complex supported by the government of Oman and one of the global luxurious destinations offered by Saraya. It will be home to exclusive residential units, two five-star beachfront hotels and a recreational area.
