Specialised contractor ... a Bardawil project.

Bardawol Specialities-Qatar, a leading provider of specialised construction products and services to the construction community in Qatar, believes the Qatar market holds high potential for growth and hence has been diversifying its business activities to meet market requirements.

It sees most of the contracts this year emanating from the public sector’s drive to push ahead with infrastructure works. “During 2013, we have seen a noticeable increase in infrastructure-related projects, while the buildings sector was not as good as in previous years. We think this will continue into 2014 due to massive infrastructure roads and jobs being tendered and awarded,” says a spokesman for the company.

Bardawil Specialities-Qatar, which began operations in the country some 15 years ago, serves the market both as a contracting and a trading firm, meeting the diverse needs right from undertaking waterproofing and decorative concrete works to the supply of building materials.

It has been in the happy position of having contributed to most of the major projects in Qatar, both recently completed and under way. These include the Hamad International Airport, Barwa Commercial Avenue, Barwa Financial District, Lusail City projects, New Doha Port and the newly-awarded Doha Metro.

Bardawil Specialities-Qatar is part of Bardawil, a leading provider of engineering products and services in the Middle East. Founded in 1945, the Bardawil group is active in the UAE, Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar, Lebanon, Jordan and the UK. The Qatar operation was established in 1999 as a part of the group’s regional expansion plan and is today a well-established member of the construction industry in Qatar.

Bardawil Specialities-Qatar has been an active supplier of specialised construction materials architectural products, oil and gas-related products and environmental products for all types of engineering projects. In addition, the company has also undertaken the application of specialised systems such as industrial and decorative flooring, concrete repair and waterproofing.

With this wide product and service range, the company has been able to participate in a majority of the construction projects in Qatar, whether residential, commercial, industrial, oil and gas, transportation or utilities.

As a leading specialised contractor, the company has completed hundreds of projects in various locations in Qatar and all over the Middle East.

“With our extensive experience, we can provide solutions to engineering problems and a high standard of customer service,” says the spokesman. “Our team will assist in evaluating the most economical solution for each particular case, all with the level of professionalism that you expect from a leading company like Bardawil.

“Our engineering support is organised to provide rapid and efficient intervention in difficult cases. Our trained employees can deliver all kinds of remedial works, even with very tight schedules such as shutdowns,” the spokesman says.

Bardawil Specialities-Qatar’s contracting division provides a comprehensive range of services, including protective flooring and coating systems; concrete repair; geotechnical engineering (shotcrete and soil nailing); waterproofing works; and decorative concrete.

Its commercial division represents a number of leading brands, each of which is a major or leading player in its field. The division is divided into several departments:

Bardawil Specialities-Qatar has a highly skilled workforce including managers, engineers, sales executives, administrators, accountants, foremen and sales and application division staff. It has, over the years, met the challenge of satisfying client demands in a highly competitive environment and at short notice.

“We have tried as much as possible to adjust our resources to comply with the market requirements,” says the spokesman.

The company is currently supplying many materials and services to most of the leading names in the Qatar.
