Monolith Plus paired with Geberit’s Acanto ... harmonious lighting.

In line with the current trend to design bathrooms as a space for well-being, Swiss sanitary solutions specialist Geberit has revised its Monolith Plus sanitary module to expand the possibilities of creating an ambiance that sets the right mood as well as boost hygiene levels and odour extraction options.

The revised sanitary module stands out with an expanded range of electronically controlled functions. They include the lighting settings, the odour extraction, the flush volume settings and the interval flush.

“The revised Geberit Monolith Plus now has a new lighting concept with four dimmable lighting scenes. In addition, the sanitary module is compatible with the Geberit Home app. This allows the lighting and other electronic functions such as the odour extraction to be programmed,” says Louise Pitt, Head of Marketing and Communications (Gulf Region) at Geberit.

Another new feature, according to her, is an interval flush, which ensures that the water pipes and the cistern of the sanitary module are regularly flushed during longer absences.

Since its launch in 2010, the Geberit Monolith sanitary modules have opened up exciting design alternatives for both new construction and bathroom renovation. These modules close a gap between concealed and exposed technology in the bathroom, she says.

Harmonious lighting

The revised Geberit Monolith Plus adds to the feeling of comfort with the lighting scenes, which are continuously adjustable and harmonise with the ComfortLight of the mirror cabinets in the Geberit One bathroom series.

“A uniform lighting mood is thus guaranteed when both light sources – that of the Geberit Monolith and that of the mirror cabinet – shine in the same room. The Digital Addressable Lighting Interface, (Dali) integrated in the Geberit Monolith Plus, ensures that the light can be set and controlled centrally. The light setting, once made on the mirror cabinet, thus also applies to the orientation light of the sanitary module,” Pitt explains.

Thanks to its shallow depth of just 10 cm, the Geberit Monolith sanitary module is an attractive alternative to surface-mounted and concealed cisterns.

Intuitive operation

Now upgraded with Bluetooth, the Geberit Monolith Plus offers the option of controlling all functions via the Geberit Home app. From setting the flush volume (four to six litres for the full flush volume) to the intensity and run-on time of the odour extraction and the colour temperature of the lighting scenes, the Geberit Monolith Plus can be easily and intuitively operated using a smartphone, she adds.

Well flushed

The elegant front of the sanitary module also conceals a solution for water hygiene: interval flush. This ensures that the water in the pipes and in the cistern of the sanitary module is exchanged regularly. This newly integrated function in the Geberit Monolith Plus proves particularly useful during longer absences or in holiday accommodations. The interval flush can be programmed via the Geberit Home app. It reliably flushes the water pipes and the sanitary module at individually adjustable intervals, thus preventing any germ formation in the stagnant water.

Consistent design

The new Geberit Monolith Plus also scores with an optimised design. The soft-touch buttons integrated into the top cover for two flush quantities trigger the flush electronically.

“The actuator buttons visually echo the classic, elegant design of the Geberit Sigma21 actuator plates. The side cladding is still available in the two colours of aluminium and black chrome aluminium. The front panelling made of glass in the colours lava and black or stoneware in slate look is supplied as standard with the side cladding in black chrome. All other front panelling in glass (sand grey and white) as well as stoneware in concrete look are available with the side cladding in aluminium. In addition, it is possible to have the front panel customised,” Pitt explains.

Not without power

The new Geberit Monolith Plus not only impresses with its simple and intuitive operation, but can also be easily installed and connected by plumbers and uses an existing power supply in the bathroom.

“Thanks to their shallow depth of just 10 cm, the Geberit Monolith sanitary modules are an attractive alternative to surface-mounted and concealed cisterns in general and in renovation projects in particular. Thanks to their compact shape, they are ideal for rooms where limited space precludes prewall installation. With its integrated functions and networking options, the new Geberit Monolith Plus additionally increases comfort in the bathroom,” Pitt concludes.

The Geberit Monolith Plus sanitary module will be available at leading sanitary suppliers across the Gulf region from October this year. It is suitable for both wall-mounted and floor-standing toilets.
