Sigma paints ... bring homes to life.

DAMMAM-based Sigma Paints has drawn inspiration from European crown jewels to create its latest innovative concept for interior decoration, the Sigmulto Amouage Tijan.

The latest addition to the paint major's high-end finish Sigmulto Amouage, Tijan comprises a range of nine designs, each named after French cities and palaces, reflecting the character and shape of regal crowns, tiaras and diadems with gold, silver and bronze motifs.

Concept
“The concept has been developed by drawing on our extensive international resources as part of Sigma/PPG Industries’ group of companies,” explains Steven Rijkaard, brand manager for Sigma Middle East.
“We have looked at the innovative products being developed by our mother company's decorative R&D (research and development) departments in Europe and have been inspired by them. Subsequently, we have created the Sigmulto Amouage range, which is a new concept catering specifically to the glamorous taste and requirements of the Gulf market.
“The name ‘Tijan’ means crown in Arabic, and reflects the opulent decoration found in the interiors of French palaces. Developed and adapted specifically for the Gulf region, this elegant concept completes the Sigmulto Amouage range,” adds Rijkaard.

Pearlescent royal leaves
“Like the other Amouage ‘royal family members’, Tijan is based on high-quality waterborne synthetic resins with pearlescent metallic pigments,” says Mike Murphy, DTS manager at Sigma Paints.
Sigmulto Amouage Tijan colours and motifs, which are inspired by tree leaves, reflect the luxury of the interiors of French palaces and can be used in classic style.
The product has been developed to be quick drying, being touch dry within five minutes.
This is a major advantage in preserving the integrity and lustre of the finish, Murphy says. It is non-toxic, low in odour and is tolerant to washing, making it suitable for all internal rooms. Moreover, it is easy to repaint, as the base is a flat emulsion without the wax coating.
“Our luxurious finish is timeless being both modern and classical. It captures and reflects light in ways that can be mesmerising as it transforms into scintillating variations of colour and light when viewed from different angles. The finish can be applied to the entire room or wall sections to give emphasis to certain architectural features and recessed areas, or in such a manner as to create an artwork or painting in its own right,” adds Murphy.
“The majestic finish enhances the opulent furnishing of the finest royal palaces, and yet can be used for any interiors, transforming even the smaller villas into mini-palaces. A plain, ordinary room can be transformed into a dynamic and impressive environment, thanks to the emotions and the feeling of luxury that this product can invoke,” explains Murphy.
“For example,” he says, “Tijan Paris is an exquisite combination of soft mauve and gold, Tijan Versailles is wild fuchsia with silver leaves, Tijan Marseille offers relaxing comfort in subtle silver grey, while Tijan Monaco is fresh olive with golden desert flowers.”
The varying finishes created by these complementing combinations convey a feeling of grandeur, enabling homeowners to express their own personal emotions and to create an ambiance in tune with the particular room setting and to their individual preferences, he adds.
Amouage Tijan colour and design combinations can be used as a dominant element in the interior space, for example, for one wall in a room, columns, partitions, ceilings and wall openings or for an entire area, where the criteria to be considered include space size and function and the lighting.

Applications
'What makes this concept so special is the wave motion and leaf effect uniquely created by our precious stone and subtle metallic colours combinations, that make individual walls or features of a room appear ever-changing when viewed from different angles due to the varying reflection of light,” Murphy points out.
“To ensure that the true effect of this beautiful product – which is the unique stamped leaves – is obtained, Sigma Paints will offer free applicator training on the product and apt system build-up,” he adds.
Sigma’s paint academy provides a range of value-added services including applicator training and technical seminars.
Last year, training sessions were organised for a total of 1,200 third-party applicators. In addition, technical seminars for architects, consultants and engineers have been held frequently over the past three years.
The technical seminars programme — which forms part of Sigma’s ongoing strategy for technical education and product awareness – targets an audience of almost 3,000 every year. It includes six annual seminars for architects, consultants and contractors and 15 applicator seminars.
