Galfar has built several roads in the sultanate.

Galfar, one of the largest multi-disciplined engineering and contracting and construction companies in Oman, secured contracts last month to construct two key road projects in the sultanate.

The contracting company has been selected by Oman’s Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz) for the construction of a dual carriageway at the Special Economic Zone at Duqm.

The scope of work at the National Road (NR) 32 Phase I Dual Carriageway Project includes laying of 16 km of road network – starting from Duqm Refinery to the entrance of Duqm centre – with six lanes, three in each direction.

The road will also include four signallised intersections and a roundabout, said Galfar. Galfar will also build a set of three concrete bridges and traffic lanes for the wadis in Say, Jurf and Dangert, it added.

The second contract was from Oman’s Ministry of Defence for the second phase of the dualisation work on Al Murtafa Street in the sultanate’s capital.

The deal was awarded by the ministry in recognition of the company’s proven track record in delivering many infrastructure projects, stated Galfar in its Linkedin account.

An expert in project management, engineering, procurement and construction sectors, Galfar caters to the sultanate’s key sectors such as oil and gas, civil, electro-mechanical, roads and bridges and environmental projects.
