Kooheji Development, one of the largest real estate developers in Bahrain, said steady progress is being made on its twin-tower project, Onyx Bahrain Bay, featuring a total of 700 apartments in the heart of Manama.
 
Announcing the project progress, the developer said work is moving as per schedule, with the structure works of Onyx Tower (A) of the project 100% completed, including the structure of the penthouse and machine room, for the 44 floors, while the structure works of Tower (B) is progressing beyond the set schedule. 
 
Kooheji said work has now reached the 36th floor of 39 floors. As for works on the facilities, the concrete pouring of the outdoor swimming pool has been completed, it added. 
 
Kooheji Contracting team, is preparing the vertical elements to strengthen the trusses for crowning Onyx Bahrain Bay building (The Crown), as well as starting the cladding works for the external facades, including aluminum works and wall curtain glazing. 
 
As for block works, 89% of it was completed in Onyx Tower (A) and 74% in Tower (B) for the Hotel Serviced Apartments.
 
Accordingly, construction work in Tower (A) reached the 44th floor, and plasterworks reached the 39th floor, said the developer. 
 
Throughout the phases of the Onyx Bahrain Bay project, Kooheji Development said it was keen to establish strategic partnerships that would achieve the highest standards in developing a sought-after residential address in Bahrain. 
 
Kooheji Contracting was appointed as the main contractor for the project, and a contract was signed with Aref Sadeq Design Consultants to implement the engineering designs. 
 
The company also appointed the largest and best suppliers in their fields to provide Onyx with its requirements, including the German company Schuco that provided the latest technology for façades, Marazzi Group for tiles requirements and Villeroy & Boch for toilet accessories. 
 
The wooden cladding was also supplied directly from Italy, with the aim of constructing luxurious residential towers that would add new value to the portfolio of Kooheji Development projects, stated the developer.
 
Kooheji's interior design team is working in full swing to complete the mockup apartments that include 1- and 2-bedroom residences that are offered in two distinctive color collections: The Madison and The Kingsbridge. 
 
While the different collections offer varied tones and textures, both have carefully chosen textures and bespoke details, joinery focal points and discrete lighting to create a relaxed and welcoming space.
 
On the key project, General Manager Engineer Mohamed Abdulghaffar Al Kooheji said: "Onyx Bahrain Bay is one of the latest residential projects for Kooheji Contracting and it represents a qualitative leap in residential life, and an icon of residential projects."
