Netherlands-based MTD has joined hands with Madaeen Al Doha, a leading business group in Qatar with interests in key sectors such as contracting, services, sports, media, food and beverage, entertainment and technology, to set up its first regional company, MTD Middle East Central Trading & Contracting, in Doha. 
 
A key provider of temporary water solutions, MTD has offices in Europe, Middle East, Americas and Asia. It manages the design, implementation, maintenance and dismantling stages of an installation.
 
With more than 35 years'​ experience, MTD offers customers, temporary water infrastructures which include safe drinking water and wastewater treatment solutions for customers in the events, expo and industry markets.  
 
"We are honoured to be the first joint venture partner of MTD in the Middle East region and also very optimistic about the support that it can bring to Qatar and the region," remarked its Chairman Sheikh Faisal Bin Jassim Al Thani after signing the deal with MDT Managing Director Hans Verhoeven in Doha. 
 
"Our country will continue to host international sporting events in the coming years and MTD will continue to support us to deliver unforgettable experiences. In addition to that sectors like the oil and gas and public services can really benefit from this unique water solution," he added.
 
Verhoeven said: "This is our first company in the Middle East after our debut project for the Asian Games in Doha, 2006. In recent years, MTD has worked regularly in Qatar, including the recent FIFA Club World Cup 2021. Now, it is time for us to take the next step, to setup our own MTD Company with an office and depot to support our growing international customer portfolio."
 
"We are expecting a sustainable growth for our joint venture MTD MEC T&C, not only in view of the upcoming events like the FIFA Arab Cup and FIFA World Cup but also with businesses in other sectors like: public services, temporary housing and offshore," he added.
 
Konstantin Peunov, Operations Director Middle East, and Janco Berkens, Operations Manager Qatar, will be responsible for spearheading the MTD business in Qatar.
 
Richard van Klinken, Operations Director of MTD Group, said: "Our objective is local sourcing for the majority of our products and services and to also hire new local talent for our office.  We want to provide the right training which will enable them to install and service temporary water infrastructures and water treatment units efficiently."
 
On the tiep-up, Kassem Ajineh Polanco, General Manager of the Madaeen Al Doha Group, said:
