
Dodsal, the engineering, procurement and construction multinational, has been awarded the Dh650 million ($178 million) contract by Nakheel to undertake the infrastructure works for contract 2 at the Jumeirah Village South III – Circle Project.
The project includes nearly 50 kms of asphalt road works, providing for a district cooling network, power and telecommunication network, including broadband, water distribution, sewage lines and fire and irrigation works. The project, located between Emirates Road, Al Barsha Road and Al Khail Road, is to be completed in 18 months by Dodsal.
Dubai-based Limitless will function as development manager for the project on behalf of Nakheel. Canadian firm EllisDon is the project manager while British firm Mouchel Parkman is the consulting engineer for the project.
Dodsal is also executing Nakheel’s $100 million, Mesoamerican project comprising 27 multi-storey residential buildings with a total built-up area of 1.94 million sq ft.
The Circle Project brings Dodsal’s current order book in excess of $2 billion. Some of the other projects that are being executed include the $1 billion Ras Laffan common cooling seawater system phase II for Qatar Petroleum, a $400 million inter-refinery pipeline project for Takreer, and the $200 million LNG project for joint venture of Chiyoda/Technip for construction work on the 7.8 MMTPA super LNG trains, Rasgas in Qatar.
