Abu Dhabi Investment House (ADIH) has unveiled plans to invest $500 million in Qatar’s Entertainment City, a mixed-use theme park, which will be part of the multi-billion-dollar Lusail development in Doha.

Entertainment City will cover 1 million sq m of land, running alongside a 1 km-long beachfront, in the Lusail area – a 35 sq km northern expansion of the capital, Doha – and is set to be the anchor development for the entire Lusail project.
The Entertainment City will add momentum to Qatar’s tourism boom and will significantly increase the country’s hotel room stock. Just a year ago, Qatar offered only 2,600 bedrooms, whereas by the end of 2007 there will be 11,000 rooms, and Entertainment City is set to increase this by a further third to almost 15,000 rooms by 2009.
Designed to be a mix of hospitality, leisure and recreational facilities, with complementary commercial and residential components, Entertainment City will offer theme parks, themed hotels, speciality shopping, fine dining restaurants, cinemas, a theatre and alternative entertainment components.
