Variety, attractive design and value are the three basic tenets of trend-setting German company Duravit's vision for its Starck 3 bathroom range, which was launched to great acclaim last year in Europe.
The Starck 3 range - designed by renowned architect and interior designer Philippe Starck - benefits from the know-how and experience of Duravit, says the company, and offers a bathroom for all requirements, from a simple cloakroom to a luxury hotel suite fitted with a whirl tub and a chic washing area with furniture washbasin.
An important feature is the unmistakable rectangular form which is not only striking but also very practical in planning terms as it allows optimum use of the available space and is therefore suitable even for the smallest bathrooms, for people all over the world and every conceivable situation, the company adds.
Starck 3 represents a new direction for Duravit, with baths and shower trays now added to the portfolio, according to the company. With external measurement options of 160 cm by 70 cm, 170 cm by 70 cm and 170 cm by 75 cm and a tub depth of 46 cm, the baths have, Duravit claims, a generous and comfortable interior. There is also a 180 cm by 80 cm model as a two-seater with headrests at both ends. Shower trays are available in the classic square shape (80 cm by 80 cm, 90 cm by 90 cm, and 100 cm by 100 cm) options, as well as a rectangular model measuring 90 cm by 75 cm and 90 cm by 80 cm. Quarter circle and pentagon shower trays with either 90 cm or 100 cm side lengths are available as a built-in version or with a matching apron.
For more luxurious or private bathrooms, all bath models in the Starck 3 range can be fitted with air or jet systems for a massage effect, and all functions can be activated and controlled with the tip of a finger via a control panel integrated in the rim of the tub.
The 12 washbasins in the Starck 3 range offer plenty of shelf space and a comfortable-sized bowl for functionality, says Duravit. Washbasins are available in 50 cm, 55 cm, 60 cm and 65 cm widths, and as a compact version with a shortened projection in 55 and 60 cm. For more luxurious bathrooms, there are furniture washbasins measuring 85 or 105 cm, as well as 49 cm-wide built-in undercounter washbasin, available either with or without pre-punched tap holes, the company says. Two new 48 cm-wide built-in washbasins with coordinating vanity unit and mirror with or without lighting complete the range.
All washbasins - particularly for those in the medical sector - can be supplied without overflow and tap holes. Semi- and floor pedestals are also available for combination with all washbasin models. Handrinse basins in a choice of 45 or 50 cm wide with semi-pedestal and a special corner version measuring 44 cm optimally round off the Starck 3 range.
The Starck 3 range also includes streamlined toilet and flushing systems: wall-mounted and floor-standing bidets, wall-mounted toilets as wash-out and flush-down models, as well as various floor-standing toilets. The ceramic cisterns are equipped with dual flush systems (for a 3 or 6 litre flush) for more economical water consumption, according to the company.
All products in the Starck 3 range are characterised by their high quality and are available in white (Alpin) and Pergamon, as well as with the easy-clean WonderGliss surface finish.
Whether in hospitals, offices, railway stations or airports, and whether for mini-bathrooms or large-scale sanitary facilities - the versatile and practical Starck 3 is, Duravit says, a quality solution no matter what the space requirements or room layouts are.
