New Holland excavators executing tough jobs for Malik Zeeshan.

MALIK Zeeshan, a leading construction equipment rental firm based in Muscat, Oman, is looking to expand its fleet of New Holland construction machinery, based on its satisfaction with the performance of its existing line-up.

“We are looking at getting a B115B backhoe loader, a LM1745 telescopic forklift, a B90B backhoe loader and an E385B crawler excavator models to expand our New Holland fleet,” said Zeeshan Malik, son of the founder of the company and its managing director.

Malik Zeeshan company has been using New Holland machinery since it was launched in 2011 by chairman Zahoor Malik and is primarily engaged in rental of construction equipment to leading construction companies in Muscat.

“We have recently also started taking up jobs on our own. We specialise in jobs like rock cutting and material disposal,” said Zeeshan.

Malik Zeeshan’s current New Holland fleet consists of a number of high-performance machines including two B115B backhoe loaders, one E215BJ crawler excavator, four L215 skid-steer loaders, and one W170B wheel loader.  In addition, three B115B backhoe loaders and one E265 crawler excavator are owned by its associates and assigned for rental purposes.

The company has procured the machines from New Holland dealer IECC, the special equipment division of Suhail Bahwan Group in Muscat.

“IECC provides excellent after-sales support and we are very satisfied with the support provided,” said  Zeeshan. “Its personnel are caring and concerned about our machines’ uptime. The dealer supports us even beyond the warranty period and provides special discount on spare parts.”

Malik says that after-sales support from the dealer is essential for the company since it does not have its own workshop and maintenance team. “We do not use the local market service and do not believe in procuring spurious parts from the local market. We always buy genuine parts and get our machines serviced from authorised dealers like IECC.”

Zeeshan indicated that the most commonly used machines in the company’s fleet are backhoes and crawler excavators, which deliver high productivity, have low maintenance requirements, and incorporate features such as easy serviceability and safety.

Overall, he said, New Holland machines are robust and sturdy, offering high productivity and being easy to operate.

“The design of the equipment facilitates daily service inspection and service can be carried out quickly due to the easy accessibility of the service points. Due to the work modes provided, we save on the component life which is extended compared to other machines. Safety has been a key considering in designing the machines thus protecting them from unwarranted and unsafe operations,” he elaborated.

Zeeshan added that the company has used various other models of excavators but finds that New Holland’s excavators that are manufactured in Japan offer superior performance and have the best designs.

“Even the smallest details are taken care of, for example, the adaptors are well designed and are leakproof and can be easily fitted in minimum time. Changing the bucket to a rock breaker and vice versa takes less time and can be done very smoothly. The quantity of hydraulic oil required during oil change intervals is less compared to similar machines. The service intervals are also flexible and the machines  are highly reliable and component life is very long,” he commented.

Zeeshan said New Holland equipment has helped his company achieve many challenges. He cited the example of a road expansion project at Al Ansab in Muscat involving stone cutting.

“This was done easily by our E215BJ and the job was finished well in time and before other machines on the job. This shows the superior design of the Japanese-manufactured excavators over the machines of competitors,” he concluded.
