Dubai-based Emirates Airline touched down in its popular A380 aircraft for a one-off service, after its recent purchase from Airbus, according to a report.

It was the first ever scheduled service of an Emirates A380 to Qatar, said the Emirates News Agency (WAM) report.

The special A380 flight was at full capacity, supporting the sizable traffic over the Eid Holiday period, it said.

"Emirates is currently operating a one-off ad-hoc Airbus A380 service between Dubai and Doha after overwhelming demand for air travel by our customers,” Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, divisional senior vice president - Commercial Operations Centre, was quoted as saying.

“The signature Emirates A380 service is fundamental to our overall strategy, and bringing this popular aircraft to Qatar represents a significant milestone in our operations to Doha,” he said.
