The Hyva HB 50 and HB 60 cranes in Saudi Arabia.

Hyva, in partnership with Alaa For Industries (AFI) – its distribution partner and service agent in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain – recently delivered 45 cranes in Riyadh.

The Hyva HB 50 and HB 60 cranes are now part of a fleet of general cargo handling commercial vehicles operating in Saudi Arabia.

AFI has multiple satellite service offices throughout Saudi Arabia and other branches in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar to support the after-sales service throughout the region.

The decision to buy Hyva cranes was based on their reputation of being a strong Hyva partner, a one-stop shop for quality hydraulic transport solutions with a full-fledged after-sales support team to back the services throughout the region, according to The Netherlands-headquartered company.

Arno Raaijmakers, Sales Director for the Middle East region, praises the partnership with AFI, “Together, since 1984, our successful partnership has built on our offering of an extensive range of crane configurations – every customer can choose the most appropriate crane for his specific needs – together with comprehensive after-sales support.”

Hyva’s HB series of articulated cranes are extremely versatile and easy to operate.  With a maximum outreach of 11.90 m and a maximum lifting capacity of 6,580 kg, the HB60 model is the ideal solution for robust versatile applications, he says.

“This is a very important order. It is significant in size, and, most importantly, it recognises the quality of the Hyva brand and the premium service reputation that our customers recognise with Hyva and AFI,” comments Mohammed Ali Al-Khayyat, General Manager at AFI. “We have an extensive network of satellite offices around the country which offer true value as well as a convenient and fast service to customers to help keep their operations running smoothly.”

Hyva is a leading global provider of innovative and highly efficient transport solutions for the commercial vehicle and environmental service industries. The company is committed to the development, production, marketing and distribution of solutions used in hydraulic loading and unloading systems on trucks and trailers. Its products are used worldwide across a range of sectors including transport, construction, mining, materials handling and environmental services providers.

The company has newly launched the Hyva Kennis e-Power rolloader crane to meet the demand for electrically operated cranes, in response to increasingly strict environmental regulation on diesel exhaust emissions and noise pollution.

Nicolo Farri, Product Manager Kennis Cranes, explains: “Electric power, rather than conventional diesel power, offers improved energy efficiency and lower environmental impact. It also means that there are no exhaust gas emissions – which is better for operators and people around the working area; and lower noise levels – typically 10 dB less than comparable fuel engines. This is a winning formula at any time or place, and especially in urban areas for night or early morning work.”

The cranes can work with the truck engine off, solving the problem of working in urban areas that do not welcome or allow emissions and noise that are typical of fuel engines.

With a compact and highly efficient battery package, Hyva Kennis e-Power delivers the amount of energy that ensures the same performance as a diesel engine, Farri states. The electric motor and smart electronic control system optimise power supply and allow the batteries to be re-charged while the vehicle is in motion – the so-called On-Road Recharge System.

“The Hyva e-Power adds another level of performance to rolloader cranes from Kennis, which are already renowned for their reliability and durability. Rolloader cranes allow the operator to cover a wide area with a limited number of extensions, to achieve shorter loading and unloading times; and to deliver higher payloads,” Farri adds.
