Kanoo Cranes, one of the largest distributors of industrial products from cranes to machinery in the Middle East, was recently part of a project for a large development in the Remram area of Dubai which includes a community with residences and schools.
The company – a division of the Kanoo Group, one of the largest family-owned businesses operating in the GCC – says it provided cranes from Spain-based JASO Tower Cranes to help build the South View School in this district.
Elaborating on its scope of works on the project to Gulf Construction, Ahmad Wraikat, Regional Sales Manager, says: “To lift all the precast units that were to be used to build the school, we brought in the JASO J560 since this is a reliable crane to do the job as fast as possible and has great safety features.
“The crane was fixed at a location where it would be best positioned to handle the offloading of the material and to install the precast panels. This allowed for a ‘lift-and-place” operation which helped reduce the construction time on site.”
In addition, the J560 has an efficient power system which reduces the power consumption compared to other crane models, he says, adding that this helped keep operational costs low over the long run as this project went on for about 12 months.
The J560 tower crane, which belongs to the H Series from the Top Line range, has a short tower top, which allows a site to use several cranes simultaneously.
“In addition, these cranes were used to accommodate the height restrictions posed by the site as a part of the community was already developed and the developers didn’t want it to be in the line of sight always,” he adds.
When needed, this crane can reach up to 85-m jib with a tip load of 2.5 tonnes for efficient lifting.
